However, this eating strategy didn't come from scientific or biological necessity it came from cultural patterns that developed over time. Although ancient Romans believed in eating one meal a day, by the time European settlers came to America they brought with them a mostly English culture of eating three square meals a day. Breakfast lunch and dinner became an even more popular idea when it was used by settlers to look down on native americans for not being a civilized group of people because they ate based on when they were hungry and based on the availability of food rather than on a set schedule. After that Farming practices, social status, work life, electricity and the industrial revolution all further shaped our cultural norm to eat three meals a day. Again none of this was based on science, but rather it was based on cultural ideas that stacked on top of each other over time for example one of these more recent ideas was having dinner with the family at six o clock when everyone got home from work. This idea was popularized within the last hundred years right around when electricity and lightbulbs became more common in homes which allowed us to prepare meals later at night. If we choose to continue following this cultural dogma of having to eat 3 or even five or six meals a day the only way to lower our total food and calorie intake is by having smaller less filling meals. The truth is that most of us prefer to eat until we feel full. Most of us also don't want to feel obligated to cook and eat all day. Most of us would like to lose belly fat while still enjoying food we love. Lots of people always ask me about this topic so I decided to make a video and explain it to you all. There are some great benefits to doing your work out in this state, but remember that there are many ways to lose weight so if you don't like this method that's fine. You can still lose weight with different methods. So why is it good to do fasted cardio for fat lose. Well lets look at the rules when it comes to losing weight. 1. Eat less calories. 2. Move more. That is it. That is how you lose weight. No matter what anyone else tells you. This is what it comes down to. Eat less. Move more. So when you are doing fasted cardio you don't eat for a period of 16 hours. During that time you are going to sleep for 8 hours and when you wake up in the morning you are going to do your work out at the gym or outside. You are going to be running off of the fuel you had the day before. Your body is going to burn off that extra calories that it didn't finish while you were asleep. While all this is going on your body is looking for fat to use as fuel since you have no carbs in you at the moment. So areas that are hard to burn like your lower belly, your hips, butt will all be used as fuel for you to run off of. Sound great right. Right, now this brings me to my next point. DRINK A TONE OF WATER! If you are not drinking lots of water then you are doing this whole thing wrong. You must and I repeat must have lots of water so that you don't pass out. Also you have to remember that diet is and always will be king. If you burn 500 calories while doing fasted cardio and then you go and eat 600 calories of food that has no fiber or health benefits, well guess what. Your fat again. So always keep your diet in check.
