During the first general staff meeting of 2024, the Clerk of Parliament, Mr Robert Tapi, emphasized the importance of effective leadership and management in ensuring the proper functioning of the institution. He expressed his gratitude to the Speaker, Honorable Simon Pentanu, and the Deputy Speaker, Honorable Therese Kaetavara, for their guidance, which has been instrumental in steering the Bougainville House of Representatives. The Clerk remarked that under the Speaker’s leadership and with the assistance and support of the Deputy Speaker, they were in safe hands, highlighting the crucial role of strong leadership in parliamentary proceedings.

Additionally, the Clerk extended his appreciation to the Senior Management Team (SMT) for their role in advancing important decisions vital to the institution’s operations. He acknowledged that without the SMT, they would not have been able to make some of the critical decisions necessary to ensure the institution’s proper functioning.

This acknowledgment serves as a testament to the commitment of the parliamentary leadership and management in Bougainville. It highlights their dedication to upholding the integrity and efficiency of the parliamentary system.
