Deputy Clerk Opens 2024 General Staff Meeting

In a recent development, the Deputy Clerk of Parliament Mr. Peter Topura revealed plans for significant management changes during the first 2024 General Staff Meeting. With a current staff strength of 48, the Parliamentary Service is gearing up for a transformation in its operations.

One of the key changes on the horizon is the introduction of a clocking machine, ready to be installed in the coming weeks. This machine is set to monitor staff movement, whist the data gathered will acquit for staff appraisal process scheduled for June this year.

Additionally, the Senior Management Team (SMT) has collectively agreed to implement a new dress code policy. Effective immediately, all SMT members are required to adhere to the new attire guidelines, which stipulate formal dress on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

These changes mark a significant shift in the organization’s management approach, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and accountability amongst staff members. The Deputy Clerk emphasized the importance of these changes, highlighting their role in fostering a more structured and productive work environment.
