The bands take up some of the resistance at the bottom and then release as you press to the top, better following the strength curve of the bench press exercise. The Power Start method will have you doing the first set for medium reps and medium weight - at least 15 to 20 reps. Go for as many as you can, done with power. Then strip off some weight and do another set. Because of lactic acid build-up, your reps will be lower. Rest 20 seconds then do another set. Repeat for 8 to 10 total sets in this fashion. The reason we want lactic acid build-up is because that signals the body to release Growth Hormone. And THAT helps burn fat while maintaining muscle and strength.
