Ozempic ist seit Februar 2018 in der EU zugelassen und ist primär ein Medikament gegen Diabetes Typ 2. Es wird jedoch auch zur gezielten Therapie bei Adipositas angewendet. D.h. PatientInnen mit nachweislicher Adipositas kann das Medikament verschrieben werden. Soweit so gut. Ozempic ist in den Wirkstärken 0,25 mg, 0,5 mg und 1 mg als Fertigpen auf dem Markt. Und es ist ein sog. GLP-1 Agonist, d.h. es wirkt wie das Hormon GLP-1. Das Hormon GLP-1 kommt ganz natürlich in unserem Magen-Darm-Trakt vor. Wie wirkt Ozempic? Ozempic hat 3 Wirkeffekte: 1.) Ozempic aktiviert die Abgabe von Insulin 2.) Ozempic hemmt die Abgabe von Glucagon, was den Blutzucker erhöht 3.) Ozempic hemmt den Appetit, v.a. auf fetthaltiges Essen Also, an dieser Stelle wirklich nahezu ein Wundermittel und man könnte fast meinen, wieso also jetzt sich nicht damit in den Bauch spritzen und endlich abnehmen? Die zahlreichen Videos erwecken hier den Eindruck, dass es sich nicht um ein wichtiges Medikament, das anderen Menschen nun fehlt, sondern um einen harmlosen Pieks handelt. Das Abnehmen ohne medizinische Indikation, einfach nur um einem Schönheitswahn hinterher zu jagen, führt dazu, dass ein wichtiges Medikament, das andere Menschen als Medikation benötigen, knapp wird. Moralisch ist das wirklich schlimm, was da in den letzten Monaten stattgefunden hat. Welche Nebenwirkungen hat Ozempic? Zu den Nebenwirkungen gehören Durchfall, Übelkeit, Erschöpfung und z.B. auch eine Verschlechterung von vorbekannten Augenschäden. Eine gefährliche Unterzuckerung ist möglich und der Hersteller erwähnt sogar die möglicherweise erhöhte Gefahr für Schilddrüsenkrebs. Ozempic ist nicht ungefährlich. Es ist ein verschreibungspflichtiges Medikament mit wichtigen Wirkeffekten aber auch Nebenwirkungen, die Ihnen, wenn Sie es einnehmen, irgendwann einholen können. Gewichtsreduktion ist wichtig aber aus ärztlicher Sicht gibt es viele verschiedene Komponenten, die für Eure individuelle Gesundheit wichtig sind. Und deswegen ist die Message dieser Reaction vielmehr als „nur“ Aufklärung über Ozempic. Es könnte auch um andere Hypes, Trends und Diäten gehen. Wer bis zum Ende geschaut hat versteht hoffentlich, dass Körpergewicht nicht der einzige Aspekt ist, der aus ärztlich-medizinischer Sicht wichtig ist. Obviously, there are less calories, but I was able to slash a pretty good amount of money and so we have the final result right here!
